Day 22 ~ Honor Roll

My son has been learning the hard lesson of how drastically a grade can be effected by just one missing assignment. He pulled it together and made the A/B honor roll this grading period. I hope it continues beyond Elementary School!

Day 17 ~ Da Boys

Today we gathered to watch the Cowboys game at a local sports bar & despite the fact that the Cowboys lost we had a good time together, me, my son, father in law, hubby, two of his close friends, "brother in law" and his twin boys. See the trend?..boys, boys, boys...and me. The picture is 3 generations.

Day 13 ~ I see you!

This is my son trying to peek out at me working the grill for dinner. I actually had to switch the camera to manual focus in order to get it to focus on his eyes rather than the window. To the naked eye the reflection of the houses were not as pronounced....or maybe I was only focus (haha) on my son.

Dya 111 ~ Daddy's not so Little Helper

Ugh, we recently spent a good chunk of cash replacing the transmission in my vehicle. On this day my vehicle wouldn't start for the second time since then. Very frustrating. My husband came and was able figure out the problem, thankfully, and my little dude was right there with him watching and absorbing and wanting to help.

Day 105 ~ Overwhelming Emotion

On this Wednesday I had to pick my son up right after school in order to get him to the Dr. at 4 and hopefully out by 5 to get to football practice at 5:30. This isn't the first time he's fallen asleep in the car while commuting. We got to the Dr. about 15min early so I just let him sleep and watched him. I was overcome by how much I love this little man, how quickly the time has passed from when he was a husky toddler with a round face, bald head and no chin to the tall outgoing young man he is becoming. It brought me to tears just watching him sleep. I couldn't help but take his picture. Thankfully it didn't wake him up.

Day 101 ~ Chocolate Bunny Ears

What would Easter be without being able to bite the ears off of a chocolate bunny? My kids got to do this a day early this year because they were not going to see their Grammy on Easter so we met for lunch on Saturday and they both dug in right away.

Day 94 ~ Pictures Pictures

My son was trying to take my picture as I was trying to take him. I like this better than the pictures he took of the birthday boy. (we were at lunch for my father in laws 69th bday)

Day 86 ~ Too Sweet

My kids will kill me for this when they find out but last Friday night we were home and heard a loud noise after the kids were in bed and not yet asleep that we were unable to identify. I assured the kids that all windows and doors were locked and that I was awake so they were ok to return to bed and get to sleep. Later as I ventured upstairs with the intent of snuggling with my "baby" girl I found that her bed was already full. Luckily I had my blackberry in hand and grabbed a quick pic before they woke.

Gotta love that even though they fight and pick on each other they still comfort each other when scared.

Day 77 ~ Full Pads

My son had his first "full pads" hitting practice for Spring football. If you ask me he's not padded nearly enough. His first hit was a doozy and knocked him for a loop but he shook it off and got back in there. This is what he looked like hours after practice. I wish I could figure out what made that pretty stitch pattern on his arm...the pics just dont do the "baby" bruises justice. They were raised up.

Day 71 ~ Supersize

During our normal shopping trip my son came across a supersize family size of beans. I asked him to hold it up to his head to show just how large the can was....as I snapped the picture he decided to change his expression. Classic.

Day 69 ~ Lazy Day

This is not the first picture I've ever taken of my son hanging his head out the window as we drive. He must be part dog. This time he was more serene about it..just laid there and let the wind rush past him.

Day 66 ~ Another practice

I love to watch my kids play sports. Not just in games but I'm one of those moms who, although I want to get to know the other parents and could probably use the adult interaction I would really rather sit off by myself and truly watch their practice. I pay close attention whether its baseball, volleyball and now football although I don't know anything about football - yet. I can offer support and bits of insight, suggestions for improvement or even just knowlegable sympathy with the other two sports football is new and at this point I just like watching my son out there enjoying himself. The passes on this day were all pretty far off...the only one that was a good pass that he snagged out of the air and ran with was done in the direction that allowed the other parents to block my shot of it. I'm sure there will be plenty of time to get more pictures. . .

Day 57 ~ Child Labor

Wow, didnt realize how long its been since I've posted. That doesn't mean I haven't been taking pictures. THAT would be unnatural for me! :0)

Just will take a bit to figure out which were taken when...

On this day our Son was solicited to massage daddy who had a sore back. Such a good son. We all ended up taking turns using the massager on each others back and more than anything else we just laughed and laughed!

Day 49 ~ Clowning around

I've begun taking my son to see a psychologist. I feel he needs someone to talk to and sometimes wonder if I could have benefited from someone who long ago might have helped me with some things that I see him having tendancy toward. As we left his session on Wednesday he was clowning around outside the building.

Day 44 ~ Friday the 13th

My hubby and I spent the day together and went and saw the new version of Friday the 13th. Too bad I didnt think to take a picture of the two of us with a poster of Jason! Later that night my son who had purchased many balloons for the sole purpose of making water balloons decided he wanted me to try to make them burst by throwing them at his chest. I had to do it before he would believe that it wouldnt work. What did work was throwing them in the air and head butting them! Too bad the camera wasn't quick enough to catch one burst on his head! Crazy little dude.

Day 42 ~ I have created a monster

As I've stated in a couple of previous pictures my son has taken to riding the steer that are at the front of our neighborhood. This started when he had had a bad day and so today he tried to convince me on the ride home from his after school care that he had had a bad day and was mad...that he would have to stop and ride the bull....stinker. You can see that he doesn't make a very convincing case..

Day 35 ~ Rodeo Time

I think I may have created a monster. :)

The first time I had stopped and let my son get on one of the steer in the front of our neighborhood it was part of a bargain to get him to be happy and put away his bad mood. It worked. On Wed of this week it worked again...something relatively small and trivial happened on the way home and so I asked, "Do I need to stop and let you ride the longhorns?" I could tell by the slight grin I had found the key... It is rodeo time here in our fair city and I'm not sure if that is what prompted his version of Urban Cowboy but it was fun.

Day 32 ~ My Little Helper

On Sunday I decided it was time to make it easier for me to workout at home and brought hm several things to assist me with banishing excuses. One thing I bought was a stepper. No sooner did I show the box than D was ready to help put it together!

Day 27 ~ Never a dull moment

Tonight as I sat on the couch blog surfing and watching the Biggest Loser, having banished the kids to get ready for bed, my son appeared abruptly at the bottom of the stairs ... the pic really says it all. Who knows what he was thinking that made him do this but he's always had a good sense of humor.

Day 25 ~ Go Spurs Go

The two men in my life left me home alone just a little while ago to go and watch the Spurs game at a local sports place. I couldn't resist making them pose for a picture in their matching Duncan jerseys before letting them leave.
